hey steven, I'm not much of a reader infact i only read what i have to or what really interests me and this post was one of them. i think that what you and your family are going through is awful. i was interested to read some of the things around the death of your mum because these things should never happen, but are still happening. i am a member of a mental health service user/carer forum in Rochdale(thats near manchester)and a friend of mine recently lost a freand who was killed by another patiant on the ward she was staying only a few weeks ago so things are all fresh here. unfortunatly she didn't have family that can be found but we as a forum are going to try our best to get answers to why this was able to happen but i think its going to be a long hall.
